What an IP leak is
Even with a VPN, a site can learn your real IP via WebRTC, IPv6 bypassing the tunnel, or DNS queries to your ISP. We test all three channels, plus blacklists, IP type and a cross-check against our own Mullvad/NordVPN server database — if you're on one of their nodes, we say so exactly.
Why check DNS
If DNS goes through your ISP, it can see which sites you open even with the VPN active. Our test generates unique subdomains and catches the real resolvers that look them up, including a DNSSEC check.
Test privacy
IP, geo and TLS come from our own edge (not third parties); WebRTC runs in your browser. The DNS probe uses dnscheck.tools test infrastructure; reputation uses DNSBL lookups over DoH. We keep no logs.
